U.S. Embassy to hold election watch events

-

CEBU - The U.S. Embassy will hold “Election Watch” on November 5 in celebration of democracy through elections. The program will be held simultaneously from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the SM Mall of Asia in Manila and at SM City Cebu.

U.S. Ambassador Kristie Kenney and U.S. Deputy Chief of Mission Paul Jones will be participating in the Manila and Cebu programs respectively.

“Election Watch” at both locations will feature continuous updates of election results from live cable TV feeds, trivia contests, and information sources from the Internet.

Voting machines that use ballots similar to those actually used in the U.S. will be available for those who would like to participate in the mock elections.

In addition, U.S. Embassy representatives will be on hand to help answer questions anyone may have regarding U.S. elections and the U.S. election process.

Media point of contact in Manila is U.S. Embassy Press Attaché Rebecca Thompson, 0918-948-6454. For Cebu, the point of contact is U.S. Embassy Deputy Press Attaché Karen Schinnerer, 0918-948-6455. — PR/LPM (THE FREEMAN)
