Angry father stabs dead daughter's lesbian "lover"

CEBU - An angry father stabbed dead his lesbian co-worker for allegedly having a love affair with his daughter in sitio Cansagiri, barangay Paring, Carmen town last Wednesday night.

Marilyn Fernandez, 29, resident of sitio Pasil, Cogon East, Carmen, was proclaimed dead on arrival at Danao City District Hospital after Arsolito Abayon, 40, of barangay Kawa, stabbed her in the neck while they were in front of a Taiwanese company at 8:50 p.m.

Carmen Police Station chief Carlos Reyes said based on their investigation, Fernandez had just got out of the factory and was already on board the improvised motorcycle driven by Narciso Manco together with her two other colleagues at work when the incident happened.

All of a sudden, Abayon, who also works at the same factory, hurriedly approached and stabbed Fernandez in the left neck.

Further investigation revealed that Abayon has a long time grudge against the victim who allegedly has a relationship with the suspect’s 20-year-old daughter for more than two years already.

Reyes said the family of Abayon had earlier complained that Fernandez allegedly kidnapped his daughter.

In fact, there was a time that members of Carmen police were already the ones fetching Abayon’s daughter in Cebu City because of his family’s request for her protection.

Police said that Abayon used to work at the Municipal Hall of Carmen but he resigned and applied at the Taiwanese factory when he learned that Fernandez and his daughter are having a relationship.

It was also learned that for several times, Abayon warned and threatened Fernandez to end her relationship with his daughter but the victim allegedly ignored it.

In their interrogation with Abayon’s daughter yesterday morning, Reyes said she claimed she was afraid that Fernandez will commit suicide if she breaks up with her.

She added she get along very well with Fernandez because she was the only person who understands her.

The girl however said that she has forgiven her father for what he did on Fernandez.
