-

CEBU – In support of the city government’s programs to address the malnutrition problem and promote clean environment, the Mactan Island Memorial Garden yesterday launched a feeding program and coastal cleanup in the barangay as part of the company’s community-based activities this year.

Mariquita Salimbangon-Yeung, chairwoman of the MIMG led company officials, joined employees and agents as well as volunteers in the two activities.

According to Yeung, their company is not only for profit but also to give importance to their social responsibility to the people in the barangay where their business is located.

She said that yesterday’s activities were just part of the series of activities that they will be doing that will focus on how to address the problems that threaten the health of the people in the barangay.

Yeung assured the residents that it was only the start of the series of activities and they will not stop, especially because they have the support of everybody.

MIMG marketing director Freddie Salimbangon said they only share their blessings to the people of barangay Marigondon being the host of their business.

He said the success of the activities yesterday is due to cooperation, not only among the company’s employees, but also between the people in the barangay.

Salimbangon reminded the residents the importance of cleaning their surroundings.

Angelyn Racaza, marketing manager of MIMG, assured the residents of barangay Marigondon that they will continue the program for the benefit of the people, adding the success of the activity will depend on the support of the people.

She also assured the people that they will support the programs of the barangay especially on health and protection of the environment. — Jose P. Sollano/WAB (THE FREEMAN)
