Woman hangs self in Boljoon

CEBU - An old woman in Boljoon town committed suicide by hanging herself allegedly due to financial problems last Thursday.

According to a report reaching the Cebu Provincial Police Office, a certain Natividad Bombarda, 65, a resident of barangay North Granada, Boljoon, was found dead inside her house at 11 a.m. Thursday.

Her husband Antonio Bombarda, 70, reported the incident to Boljoon police who responded immediately and saw the body of Natividad hanging from a wooden beam.

Antonio said he left around 8 a.m. that day to farm. When he returned for lunch around 11 a.m., he saw the body of his wife hanging from a rope tied to the beam.

Antonio said he did not know his wife was upset over their finances and said they were still able to eat three times a day.

Their neighbors told the police they saw the victim constantly staring off into space recently.
