Police retiree nabbed for brandishing gun

CEBU - A policeman in Sibonga town who is set to retire from service today was arrested for brandishing his firearm while challenging a barangay tanod to a fight last Tuesday.

Police said SPO1 Cedric Lagahid, 56, of barangay Poblacion, Sibonga was drunk when he was looking for barangay tanod Raul Dante Badogdog. Lagahid allegedly was challenging Badogdog to a fight.

Other barangay tanods immediately responded and successfully seized the .45 caliber from Lagahid.

Badogdog, barangay council members Matzo Natividad and his wife Rosario, and barangay tanods Wilson Bacusmo, Jr. and Eliezer Blanco subsequently filed a complaint for grave threats Lagahid.

The suspect is currently detained at the Sibonga Police Station awaiting the formal filing of charges against him.
