Man faces charges for hacking nephew

-

CEBU - A 71-year-old man is now behind bars after he hacked his 13-year-old nephew with a bolo in barangay Sta. Cruz, Ronda town last Monday.

Authorities are still investigating the motive of the hacking but initial investigation showed that it all started with a heated argument between the suspect, Feliciano Apostol, and his nephew. Both are neighbors in barangay Sta. Cruz.

Initial investigation also revealed that Apostol used a bolo to attack the victim, hitting the latter on his lower left ribs. The victim was treated at the Barili District Hospital and is now out of danger.

Apostol voluntarily surrendered to a barangay tanod who turned him over to the police. – Niña Chrismae G. Sumacot/JMO (THE FREEMAN)
