Two drunk men die in Argao
CEBU - Two drunken men died—one of drowning and the other in a vehicular accident—in Argao last Monday.
Renato Tulda, 36, single, and a resident of barangay Tapilon, Daanbantayan was found dead early morning yesterday at the seawaters of barangay Binlod.
According to the investigation, the victim went with his relatives to the place around 4 p.m. last Monday for a beach party to celebrate the barangay’s fiesta that day.
But during dinner time, the relatives noticed the victim’s absence which prompted them to have him searched the following day.
At around 6 a.m. the following day, the victim was found dead in the sea while still clutching a rock.
SPO1 Arnold Abener of Argao Police Station said they believe the victim was drowned because he was under the influence of liquor.
Meanwhile, Feliciano Sarsaba, 48, a resident of sitio Tunggo, barangay Taluot died during a motorcycle crash at around 7 p.m. last Monday at sitio Canuoy, barangay Burlasa.
Witnesses told police the victim was allegedly overspeeding towards the poblacion when they saw his motorcycle suddenly wobbled and smashed the victim on the cemented road.
The investigation further showed that Sarsaba was driving under the influence of liquor.
The victim was rushed to Isidro Quintanar Memorial Medical Center where he was declared dead on arrival. – Niña Chrismae G. Sumacot/WAB (THE FREEMAN)
