CEBU – A fire broke out at the interior portion of sitio Sta. Cruz, barangay Luz last night, destroying an estimated 13 houses made of light materials.
Radio reports said the woman identified as Florentina Iñon, 65, was rushed by the Mobile Patrol Group to the Cebu City Medical Center due to burns in her head and both legs.
Firefighters immediately raised the fire to third alarm as most of the houses were made of light materials and the blaze was immediately put under control 25 minutes after firemen arrived at the scene.
According to dySS, Corazon Iñon, Florentina’s daughter-in law, reported the fire may have started from her mother-in law’s house. The elderly woman was saving whatever belongings she could when Corazon found her already in pain.
Corazon said she helped her mother-in-law out of the house to safety beside the road and she was later rushed by Insp. Rex Campus of the MPG to CCMC. — Edwin Ian Melecio/BRP (THE FREEMAN)
