Woman robbed while on board a trisikad
CEBU - A woman was robbed by her co-passenger while they were boarding a trisikad in Beatriz Village, barangay Poblacion, Danao City last Thursday morning.
Police identified the victim as Chona Malubay, 33, a church choir member and a resident of barangay Looc, Danao City.
Initial investigation disclosed that at around 12 a.m., Malubay boarded a trisikad from her residence on her way to the church to attend the Holy Mass in anticipation of their fiesta on Sunday and Monday.
Later on, an unidentified man also embarked and pretended to be a passenger. But a few minutes later, the man pulled out a handgun of undetermined caliber and declared the robbery.
Because of extreme fear, Malubay allegedly gave her Nokia 3330 unit cell phone worth P9,000 and P2,600 cash.
The robber immediately disembarked and fled while the victim asked the trisikad driver to bring her to the police station to have the incident recorded in the police blotter.
Elements of the police are still conducting a follow-up investigation to identify and possibly arrest the suspect. — Niña Chrismae G. Sumacot/WAB (THE FREEMAN)
