Razon open for another gov't seat

-

CEBU - Outgoing Philippine National Police director general Avelino Razon Jr. said he is very much willing to occupy another government position after his retirement but clarified that he has no plans to enter politics.

“Tatanggapin ko and will consider as an honor kahit anong position from the government… The concentration is on paglilingkod-bayan, hindi sa political arena,” Razon pointed out.

Razon is set to retire on September 27 upon reaching the mandatory retirement age of 56 for government officials and employees.

He however assures the public that projects under the “Mamang Pulis” program will still be carried on following his retirement as these are part of the Integrated Transportation Program of the PNP.

“Walang dapat ipangamba ang ating mga mamamayan dahil magpapatuloy ang serbisyo ng PNP as we are mandated to serve and protect the community,” Razon stressed.

According to him, he is just waiting for the formal announcement from National Police Commission about his retirement, although Deputy Director General Jesus Versoza, deputy chief for administration of the PNP, has already been endorsed to Malacañang to succeed him.

The formal turnover ceremony of outgoing and ingoing PNP chief will be on September 29 at the Malacañang Palace.

Razon was in Cebu yesterday to attend the 133rd National Law Enforcement Coordinating Council regular meeting and NALECC’s 26TH anniversary, which has a theme: “NALECC: Building the Nation through closer coordination and effective law enforcement.” — Niña Chrismae G. Sumacot/WAB (THE FREEMAN)
