Notorious person falls in Negros
CEBU - Police have arrested 26-year-old Michael Tupaz who is considered to be notorious with his modus of talking his way with house helps to enter the houses he intends to steal from.
Sr. Inspector Michael Anthony Bastes, chief of the city police’s Theft and Robbery Section, yesterday said Tupaz was arrested in La Carlota, Negros Occidental last September 5 by virtue of six warrants of arrest for theft cases.
Three of the warrants were issued by a court in Iloilo City while the three others were issued by a court in Bacolod City.
Bastes said he hopes that the courts here in Cebu would issue separate warrants on Tupaz for his two pending theft cases here so he could still be placed under arrest in the event he could bail out from his cases in Iloilo and Bacolod.
Here in Cebu, Tupaz allegedly targeted high end neighborhoods such as those in subdivisions.
Tupaz would reportedly use his “good looks” to convince house helps to allow him to enter the house by introducing himself as a relative to the owners.
Once inside, he would then find his way to the owners’ rooms and take away money and other valuables.
The police admitted Tupaz has the cunning ability to elude arrest, thus, his apprehension in Negros is considered to be a major development.
Police believe Tupaz is supported by someone rich because the suspect reportedly usually uses a luxury car when executing his plan. — Niña Chrismae G. Sumacot/JMO (THE FREEMAN)
