Man facing charges for murder of three
CEBU - A complaint for murder was filed yesterday before the Cebu Provincial Prosecutor’s Office against a man who ran amok and killed three people, including a responding barangay captain, in Tabuelan town.
Tabuelan Police Station chief Rogelio Amoroso Jr. filed the complaint against Paquillo Tuling of barangay Kanluhangon, Tabuelan.
Tuling was accused of killing barangay captain Romualdo Montecalvo and his wife Armingula in the afternoon of July 14. Tuling also killed his sister-in law Julieta Tuling.
The investigation conducted by the Tabuelan police revealed that Tuling stabbed his wife, Dina, first. Julieta who witnessed the stabbing shouted for help but the suspect stabbed her as well.
The commotion has caught the attention of the barangay officials, prompting Romualdo to respond. Barangay treasurer Carlito Rondina, who witnessed the incident, said that he and the barangay captain pursued the suspect who was already trying to flee after killing Julieta and wounding his wife.
Rondina said that the barangay captain tried to negotiate the suspect, who was still holding a knife, to surrender. However, Paquillo instead attacked Romualdo and stabbed him in the chest, causing his death.
