Burglar takes P.2M in cash and items

CEBU - A burglar made off with almost P200,000 in cash and jewelry from an engineer’s house in barangay San Nicolas, Cebu City, early morning yesterday.

According to the Theft and Robbery Section of the Cebu City Police Office Elpido Mozo, 45, of H. Siloy St. corner Lemon St., Basak-San Nicolas, said the burglars came around 5 a.m. yesterday morning.

Mozo reported that his nephew, Zaide Toloy, 19, was able to see the burglar. Toloy described the burglar as 5’5” tall, with a thin build and was wearing brown pants, a white long-sleeved shirt and a ball cap. He was not able to see the face of the burglar clearly.

Based on the initial investigation, the burglar climbed over the gate, then up to the second floor and entered the house through an open window leading to the comfort room of Mozo’s bedroom.

The burglar then forced opened the lock of the drawer where the victim and his wife kept their valuables.

Stolen were two bracelets worth P35,000, a white gold choker worth P20,000, a gold bangle worth P18,000, a ring with five diamonds worth P45,000 and P50,000 in cash. — Ferliza C. Contratista/BRP (THE FREEMAN)
