The Cebu City government will be giving P1 million financial assistance to the city Cadiz to help it cope with the devastation caused by Typhoon Frank.
“Tabangan nato sila kay daku kaayo ang naangkon nga kadaut sa maong lugar,” said Mayor Tomas Osmeña who is currently in Bacolod City for a meeting with the League of Cities of the Philippines.
The city earlier gave P200,000 each as financial to the cities of Iloilo and Roxas and P100,000 to 17 other towns in Western Visayas. The City Council already approved the aid for these local government units.
Councilor Gerardo Carillo, action officer of the city’s disaster coordinating council, already drafted a resolution that would enable the mayor to sign a Memorandum of Agreement with Cadiz for the granting of the financial assistance.
Unless the same is tackled during the amendments portion in today’s regular session, the City Council will take up Carillo’s resolution in its session next week.
