The suspects were identified as Aleoden Duwat-duwat Polman, 26, and Bao Banawag, 27, all residing in Buaya, Lapu-Lapu City while the victim was identified as Luciano Buro, 51, a native of Punod, Pinamungajan town and a driver of VNM and Sons Taxi.

Buro sustained a gunshot wound to the face after he tried to parry away the firearm used by the robbers.

He was taken to the Lapu-Lapu City District Hospital but was later transferred to Vicente Sotto Hospital then to Chong Hua Hospital and finally to the Cebu City Medical Center.

When the two suspects were brought to the hospital, Buro positively identified them as the culprits.

Polman added: “Dili man ko makasiguro kun ako ba ang nakakablit sa armas kay nag-ilog na man mi sa driver.” – Ramil V. Ayuman/LPM
