Badian teacher faces complaint for abuse

-

A public school teacher in Badian is facing a criminal complaint before the provincial prosecutor’s office for allegedly maltreating her pupils who did not pay attention during class.

The father of the six-year-old pupil had accused Loreta Parohinog, Grade 1 teacher of Badian Central School, of pinching his son on the neck, which reportedly caused the child to lose interest in school.

The complainant said he first noticed his son acting indifferently evening on June 30 when he got home from work. He also reportedly noticed a pinch-mark on his son’s neck but thought he just got it from a fight with a classmate.

However, he was reportedly surprised when the following morning, his son no longer wanted to go to school.

He still reportedly brought his son to school despite the child’s protestations but upon reaching there, the child reportedly did not want him to leave.

The child also reportedly refused to tell him why he did not want to attend school, which prompted him to be absent from work to look into his son’s situation.

When the child finally told him of the incident, he immediately talked to the principal and Parohinog during which he reportedly observed that his son hid behind his back upon seeing his teacher.

The complainant said he later learned that Parohinog was also a subject of another complaint filed with the police for allegedly “maltreating” another student October last year.  Fred P. Languido/JMO
