Affair for diabetics slated tomorrow

The public is invited to join a one-day diabetic friendly activity tomorrow, Sunday, at the Ayala Center Cebu.

Sweet Alert, an organization that promotes a diabetic friendly lifestyle, is inviting everyone with high blood sugar or those at high risk of diabetes to take part in the healthy lifestyle affair which involves dance exercise, health monitoring, sugar-free pastry bazaar, and a healthy gourmet cooking demonstration with Nestlé Philippines.

Abbott Diabetes Care, Roch Philippines Diagnostic Division, Lifescan Johnson & Johnson, Terumo Pharma, and Eli Lilly will all take part in the health monitoring booths. Inosware, which manufactures cooking wares that have made it possible to eliminate the use of cooking oil; thus promoting a fit and healthy lifestyle, will also be participating.

As a highlight, Nestlé will showcase sumptuous, nutritious menus to demonstrate. After that, audience will also have a taste of hearty meals to be prepared by a chef from the City Sports Club.

On top of this lineup of activities, Sweet Alert will take this opportunity to recognize and award diabetic friendly establishments that are conscious of the needs of their clients for low-in-sugar meals.

For a decade now, Sweet Alert has embarked on numerous innovative and successful health movements from information drive exhibits, painting exhibitions, to fundraising concert featuring Christian Bautista.  Aside from information dissemination, the organization this time aims at bringing this annual event to a higher level and that is promoting a diabetic friendly lifestyle.
