Teacher who shot wife charged

-

A case was filed in court against a retired public schoolteacher who allegedly shot his wife dead in front of their children in Santander town last week.

The Cebu Provincial Prosecutor’s Office has indicted Alberto Alviso of parricide, for which he was not allowed to post bail.

Alviso allegedly shot his wife Doris dead in the afternoon of August 1 in barangay Talisay, Santander after a heated argument.

Alviso, 64, reportedly got jealous after he twice caught his wife and her alleged paramour.

On top of the parricide case, Alviso is also facing frustrated murder case for trying to kill his wife’s alleged lover, Victor Luang Basig.

The couple’s children, Alris, 8, and Aldor, 4, said their parents started quarrelling at about 3:00 p.m. on August 1.

The children said they later saw their father hugged their mother and pointed a gun at her.

“Then we heard a sound coming from the gun then right after my mother lying on the floor (sic),” the children said in their affidavit. —Fred P. Languido/LPM
