Construction worker arrested for “rape” of female guard

-

A 43-year-old construction worker was arrested for allegedly raping a 39-year-old lady guard, who happens to be a friend of his wife, in sitio Kanaas, Singson Village, barangay Guadalupe Cebu City Tuesday night.

Detained at Guadalupe Police Station was Bobby Laurente, 34, a resident of Kanaas, barangay Guadalupe.

The alleged rape victim, Elena (not her real name), 39, a single mother and resident of Nivel Hills, Busay, Cebu City accused the suspect of taking advantage of her being drunk.

Elena said she went to the house of Laurente to visit his wife, Amelie, who is also a lady guard.

The victim added that she and Amelie were drinking from around 4 a.m. to around 11 p.m last Tuesday.

Elena said that together with the suspect, they consumed four long necks of brandy that made them drunk.

When Amelie went upstairs to sleep, the victim said Laurente took advantage of her being drunk and started molesting her.

The statement of the victim was corroborated by the suspect’s nephew, who allegedly saw her struggling against the suspect’s sexual advances.

“Gipugos gyud sa akong uyu-an kay nakakita man gyud ko nga molabnot ang babaye,” the witness said.

Amelie said she also saw her husband and Elena on act of doing sexual intercourse, which prompted her to report to the police authorities and barangay tanods of Barangay Guadalupe.

“Naabtan gyud namo sila duha nga naghubo na gyud. Unya luya kaayo ang babaye siguro sa kahubog, unya ang lalaki nga wala na gyud sapot,” Lisa Arendain, barangay tanod of Guadalupe said.

For his part, Laurente denied he raped the victim saying “ana man gyud ko matug mahubo tanan.”

He also said that the kiss marks on the neck of Elena was done by his wife and he is willing to undergo examination to prove he did not rape the victim. — Ramil V. Ayuman/WAB
