Evaluation on for best lupon members search

An evaluation is now being conducted for the Department of Interior and Local Government’s search for outstanding lupong tagapamayapa members in Cebu.

The search, which is spearheaded by DILG Cebu provincial director Edmundo Jamisola, is aimed at recognizing people at the forefront of settling disputes at the grassroots level.

Known as Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards, the search is done annually in compliance with the mandate of the DILG to provide a system of granting benefits and incentives to lupon members with exemplary performance.

The search also intends to acknowledge dedicated lupon members who are the driving force behind the success of the mediation structures which resolved disputes within the barangay level. The winners in the barangay level will compete in the regional and national search. Cebu province has over 1,500 barangays. Nominees are judged based on the efficiency of their operations, effectiveness in securing the objectives of the Katarungang Pambarangay program, creativity as well as their resourcefulness as mediators and conciliators.
