2 men arrested for drugs

-

Members of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-7 arrested two men for drugs Thursday evening along Avocado Street, barangay Mambaling, Cebu City.

Police identified the suspects as Ramil Quitnos, alias “Ramil Quiño”, 38, and Carlos Yunson, 37, both residents of the area. Their arrest stemmed from a search warrant issued by RTC Branch 17 Judge Silvestre Maamo Jr. for violation of Republic Act 9165.

The CIDG-7, led by Chief Insp. Richard Caballero, in coordination with the Mambaling police, raided the house of Quitnos after receiving information that the suspect is selling illegal drugs.

The police found Yunson at the house of Quitnos and both were reportedly in possession of four small packs of suspected shabu, several drug repacking paraphernalia, a digital weighing scale, three cell phones and a bundle of empty plastic sachet to be used in repacking shabu.

Caballero told The FREEMAN that Quitnos is a Level 2 drug pusher who can dispose of at least 200 grams to a kilo of shabu per week.

The operation was witnessed by Mambaling barangay tanods Eustaquio Tamarra Jr. and Rolando Edaño. — Edwin Ian Melecio/BRP
