Three sued for loud singing
If you want to sing loud with your speakers at night, you should see to it that it will not disturb your neighbors —else you might face charges in court and risk getting a year-long jail sentence and paying P5,000 for violating the city’s anti-noise ordinance.
Camputhaw resident Mark, Manny and Maria, all surnamed Laureto, are now facing criminal charges before the Municipal Trial Court in Cities Branch 2 for allegedly violating City Ordinance 309, or the anti-noise ordinance.
Their neighbor Carmen Alviola filed the complaint after the three ignored her request they tone down their singing karaoke past
Alviola was forced to ask the help of the tanods to convince the Lauretos to turn down the volume, but after the tanods left the three allegedly turned the volume up even louder and went on singing until
“They sang in unison …and were shouting to annoy us all … especially my ailing mother,” Alviola said, convinced that the three were intentionally trying to keep them awake with the noise.
