American national claims his “friend” stabbed him
An American has filed a complaint for frustrated murder against a young man he befriended in Liloan town, where he temporarily resides, for allegedly stabbing him after he confronted the latter about his missing valuables.
Roy Bean, 66, temporarily residing in sitio Bonbon, barangay Catarman, Liloan, alleged that Egan Torrecampo stabbed him several times in the afternoon of July 3 inside his rented apartment.
Bean said in his affidavit that he befriended the suspect a couple of weeks ago and since then the latter visited him often. According to Bean, since then he also started to notice that his valuables, including cash, started going missing.
Bean said he suspected Torrecampo because no other person entered his room except the suspect. To avoid further loss, Bean said he did not allow Torrecampo to enter his room anymore and likewise confronted him about his missing valuables.
However, in the afternoon of July 3, Torrecampo visited him again and apologized. The suspect reportedly requested him that he be allowed again to enter his room, to which he also obliged.
But while he was watching television, he was allegedly attacked by the suspect with the use of a kitchen knife.
Torrecampo allegedly stabbed him several times.
The suspect was immediately arrested by responding policemen of the Liloan Police Station. He was taken to the provincial prosecutor’s office yesterday afternoon for the filing of the complaint. — Fred P. Languido/MEEV
