19 more storms to hit RP this year
At least 19 more typhoons are expected to enter the Philippine territory in the remaining six months of the year, the weather bureau said yesterday.
PAGASA weather observer 4 Ella Comahig said that said that more typhoons are expected to hit the country in the following months because it is still the onset of rainy season in the country.
A total of six typhoons have so far entered the country with the last one – Frank – leaving billions of pesos in damage and hundreds dead.
Meanwhile, PAGASA Mactan Chief Oscar Tabada said the weather bureau is upgrading its equipment to be able to make better forecasts.
He said that a new radar will be installed virtually covering the entire country.
