Occupants set to discuss defects of legislative bldg
Acting Vice Governor Rosemarie Durano yesterday instructed the provincial secretary to immediately convene all representatives of the Provincial Board members, Department of Agrarian Reform, and the Court of First Instance Community Cooperative to discuss matters concerning the legislative building.
The PB designated provincial secretary Anecita Pasaylo as administrator of the
“It is proper time to call such meeting so that the long overdue concerns of every office of the legislative building will be appropriately dealt with. I know you can administer very well this building to the satisfaction of the occupants,” Durano said in her letter dated June 2.
Durano wants the meeting to be conducted today.
The move to designate a building administrator is in response to the complaints of provincial officials about defects in the building such as cracks on the floors and walls, tiles popping out and dripping water during heavy rains.
PB member Victor Maambong sponsored the resolution which sought to designate the provincial secretary as building administrator.
PB member Agnes Magpale, chairperson of the committee on tourism, said that not only do the defects trouble the building occupants, but she also gets embarrassed with the edifice’s state whenever she entertains visitors into her office.
The legislative building was constructed in 2004 by the Dakay Construction and Development Corp. at a cost of P61 million. It is occupied by the DAR, CFI community cooperative, and offices of PB members. — Garry B. Lao/MEEV
