-

Police arrested Tuesday morning two teachers in Sibonga accused of making erroneous records during the Sangguniang Kabataan and barangay elections last October 29.

The two, Marife Lagondenio and Analiza Guaren, are residents of barangay Papan in Sibonga, and teachers of the Papan Elementary School.

They have been facing charges of violation of Article 2, Section 261 of Batas Pambansa 881, in relation to Articles 3 and 9 of the General Instructions on the Conduct of the Synchronized Barangay and SK Elections.

“Regarding sa ilang erroneous report sa Comelec (Commission on Elections), gipasakaan sila og kaso diri sa Sibonga ug na-elevate na sa Regional Trial Court,” said SPO3 Ramon Padilla, one of the policemen who served the arrest warrant against the teachers.

Padilla, SPO1 Aristedes Carillo, and PO3 Jimmy Raiz served the warrant of arrest, which was signed by RTC-Branch 29 Judge Maximo Perez.

The teachers, after spending hours in detention at the Sibonga Police Station, were released at about 2pm after their lawyer succeeded in posting P12,000 bail for their temporary liberty.  — Trex Eden O. Ignacio, UP Intern/RAE
