A 27-year-old cell phone shop employee is now in critical condition after being shot along F. Pacaña Street, barangay Tisa, around 9:30 a.m. yesterday.
The victim’s mother, Mila Labajo, reported to the Homicide Section of Cebu City Police Office that her daughter Cherry Lyn Labajo, was shot by a robber while they were on their way home from Mass last Sunday.
The victim was walking beside her when suddenly an armed man approached them and tried to grab the victim’s shoulder bag.
But Cherry struggled against the man who then pulled out a gun and shot her. The bullet hit her in the right wrist then penetrated to strike her in the torso before exiting her body.
The man ran to a parked motorcycle driven by another man and both of them escaped empty-handed.
Cherry was rushed to Cebu City Medical Center where she is still confined.
The elements of the Homicide Section are now looking for the assailants.
“Wala pa namo nakuha ang statement ni Cherry Lyn about sa incident ug sa identity sa mga tulisan kay ang biktima dili paman namo ma-interview kay maglisud paman ug estorya,” said SPO4 Alex Dacua. — Princess Mondejar/BRP
