Man shot to death outside own house

A 31-year-old man was shot to death by an unidentified man he had been conversing with outside his house in barangay Lorega-San Miguel the other evening.

Police homicide reports stated that the victim, Ramil Legaspi, was hit in the chest and was declared dead on arrival at the Cebu City Medical Center.

The incident took place while Legaspi’s wife, Rose, was watching television inside the house. Rose heard a gun fired and, when she went out to check, saw her husband already bloodied. The assailant immediately fled the area, the police said.

Meanwhile, in Danao City, the police arrested 23-year-old Christo Rey Parot, a resident of Carmen town, who has been wanted for the rape of his 14-year-old cousin three years ago.

SPO4 Ramirito Ramondida said no bail was recommended for Parot who has been in hiding since. “Nalangay gyud ang pagdakop aning suspetsado kay nagtago-tago naman ni siya human sa iyang gihimong krimen,” the police said. — Queenie Chariz Dayanan and Garry B. Lao/RAE
