Police nab drug pusher in Talisay
Authorities arrested the other night a man who sold shabu to a police who he thought was one of the customers of a drug pushing suspect who was the actual target of the police team that went to Biasong in Talisay City.
Regional Anti- Illegal Special Operations Task Group-7 (RAIDSOTG 7) led by Insp. Kenneth Paul Albotra in coordination with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested Meljun Heruela, a resident of the place, after he offered shabu to the police poseur-buyer, PO3 Armando Labora.
The police team was actually looking for another drug suspect (name withheld) after getting information that he has been involved in illegal drugs operation in the barangay.
As the police began making inquiries of the suspect, Heruela approached them and struck a drug deal with them, thinking that they were plain drug users wanting to buy the items from the suspect.
Seized from Heruela were two medium packs and three packets, containing crystalline substance believed to be shabu, a P100 bill, and a .22 caliber revolver with two live bullets.
These evidences were brought to the Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory for analysis, while Heruela was detained in the RAIDSOTG-7 cell to face charges of violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002) that might send him to life in prison. – Princess Mondejar, CNU-intern/RAE
