Vendor stabbed by cousin

A 33-year-old balloon vendor was stabbed by his cousin allegedly over a personal grudge in sitio Balangkapuna, barangay Sambag 1 yesterday afternoon.

Jeffrey Salvador was stabbed by cousin Daniel Rebancos, 28. The two are both residents of the place.

According to the investigation conducted by SPO4 Alex Dacua and his team in the Homicide Section of the Cebu City Police Office, the victim was walking from his house when being approached by Rebancos.

Rebancos then allegedly said, “ikaw diay ha, patyon tika,” and pulled out a stainless kitchen knife and stabbed Salvador several times, hitting the victim in his right shoulder and his back.

The victim was rushed to a private hospital while the suspect fled immediately.

Police said Rebancos had a personal grudge with the victim, and added that appropriate charges will be filed against the suspect. - Princess Mondejar/LPM
