The regional office of the Department of Science and Technology and its training arm, the Confederation of Scientific and Professional Organizations, will conduct a two-day training in herbal soap making this month.
DOST is inviting interested individuals to the training, which is held from April 16 to 17 at the DOST-7 conference room in Banilad.
Participants will earn the techniques and processes in making herbal bath soaps, laundry soaps and other beauty soaps. Basic multimedia productions will teach them how to become highly creative in the trade.
Participants will also learn the basics of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe illustrator, Macromedia Extreme 3D, Soundforge and Macromedia Director.
Production of herbal bath soap, both in cold process (opaque) and hot process (transparent) will be also taught.
“They will gain the knowledge on how common herbs and essences are utilized in the development of the soap’s texture and soothing properties and will get the chance to make and bring home their very own herbal soaps,” DOST-7 director Rene Burt Llanto said.
Llanto said a registration fee of P3,000 will be charged to every participant to cover the cost of materials to be used in the training. — Jasmin R. Uy/LPM
