SSS now accepts members’ payments online via BancNet

-

Members of the Social Security System can pay now their contributions through an Internet-based system, specifically the BancNet’s online facility.

In a press release posted on the SSS website, SSS president and chief executive officer Corazon de la Paz-Bernardo said this new payment option made available to SSS members “ensures fast and accurate posting of contributions.”

She added that this would allow also “self-employed and voluntary members and overseas Filipino workers to avoid long queues in making payments”, but then only those SSS members who are BancNet ATM cardholders can use this online facility through www.bancnetonline.com, without need for enrollment.

Under the online facility, payments will be remitted to SSS through electronic transfer from the BancNet-member bank, then an SSS member will get immediate acknowledgment of their payment with transaction results immediately reflected on the screen also.

The SSS head however clarified that this online facility is not available for employers who can only remit payments to the SSS through existing channels like the Electronic Data Interchange or SSSNet, the Automatic Debit Arrangement for household employers and over-the-counter facilities of accredited banks and selected SSS branches.

“We urge our members with BancNet ATM cards to use SSS BancNet online facility.  All they have to do is log on and follow the step-by-step instructions,” De la Paz-Bernardo said.

Participating BancNet-member banks of the online payment facility are Allied Bank, Asia United Bank, China Bank, Chinatrust, Sterling Bank of Asia, Citystate Savings Bank, Export Bank, PBCom, Philtrust Bank, RCBC, RCBC Savings Bank, Security Bank, and Standard Chartered. — Jasmin R. Uy/RAE
