Cessna plane makes forced landing in Sogod; pilot safe

-

A four-seater Cessna 172 plane with registry number RPC 4433 made a forced landing somewhere in Sogod town at about 3:13 p.m. yesterday according to Air Transportation Office shift supervisor Mark Villanueva.

Villanueva said the plane’s pilot, Jessup Bajenting, reported to ATO that he made a forced landing but was safe an unharmed. Bajenting was the lone passenger of the plane, which is registered to Mactan-based Aviators Inc., a firm he owns.

Records at the ATO reveal that the Cessna plane departed from the Mactan Airport at 1:46 p.m. and was supposed to head to Bantayan Island as indicated in its flight plan. The ATO could not determine yet why the plane had to make a forced landing. — Jose P. Sollano/QSB
