Man robs net café in Basak-Pardo

-

A man with a gun robbed an Internet café in barangay Basak-Pardo yesterday dawn and fled with P800 from the cashier and the wallets and cellphones of the customers.

Police accounts stated that the robber, whose identity has not been determined yet, entered the TK Zone Internet Cafe, pointed his gun to the cafe caretaker 22-year-old Glenn Lariosa, and announced a hold-up.

Lariosa was helpless while the robber divested the cash drawer. The robber then turned to the customers and took from them three cellphones and two wallets containing IDs, and money that may reach a total of close to P25,000.

Pardo station policemen said the victimized customers are BJ Igloria, 20; Ted Brillantes, 19; Lester Yu, 25; and Junard Silaya, 27, all residents of Basak-Pardo, and Erwin Carusca, 19, who is from Minglanilla.

Meanwhile at Salinas Drive in barangay Lahug, two policemen of the Mobile Patrol Group arrested 19-year-old Rolda Gojo who they accused of trying to rob a woman.

Gojo, a resident of barangay Yati in Liloan, was driving a red motorcycle with a still unidentified backrider and trailing a woman who was walking in the area.

MPG men on a patrol car, PO3 Edwin Mayuela and PO2 Dindo Lumapak, saw the suspicious move of Gojo and his companion while driving their motorcycle just behind the woman.

The policemen then noticed that the motorcycle had no license plate and this prompted them to approach Gojo and his companion but the two revved up their motorcycle and sped off towards Sudlon.

The policemen gave chase and cornered the two suspects near a bridge but the unidentified backrider escaped by jumping into the creek
