Power interruptions to hit Consolacion, Cebu City

A five-hour brownout (from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.) is expected on Friday, January 18, over areas of barangays Garing, Sta. Cruz, Tilhaong, Danlag, and Polog in Consolacion.

The Visayan Electric Company said this power interruption was necessary to facilitate the relocation of primary lines and installation of a pole in the area.

On Saturday, January 19, power outage (8 a.m. to 12 noon) will hit a part of barangay Guadalupe in Cebu City, including the entire Espina Village. VECO said that a rotten pole in the area will be replaced with a 40-foot concrete pole prompting the brownout.

Also on the same day, another power interruption will occur from 8am to 11am over a portion of barangay Lahug in Cebu City, including Salinas Drive Extension, Maraca Street, BC Homes, Brookside Valley, and Hacienda Salinas.

VECO said that this has to be done to facilitate the relocation of primary line away from the construction area.

VECO added that these interruptions are part of the works to improve the service for their consumers in these areas. — Mitchelle L. Palaubsanon/RAE
