Brgy chief: Politics behind Inayagan  grenade blast

Outgoing barangay captain Narciso Tablate of Inayagan, Naga City yesterday said he believes that the grenade explosion in front of their barangay hall at around 2 a.m. of October 31 was “100-percent politically motivated.”

Tablate, during his visit to the Cebu Provincial Police Office yesterday morning, said he already has an idea as to who could have perpetrated the act, but could not divulge any information yet to the media as there is an ongoing investigation on the incident.

He strongly believes the incident has something to do with politics. Although he didn’t drop names, he said the incident was carried out by some people who refuse to accept defeat since these people allegedly spent a huge amount of money to win votes during the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections last October 29.

Two motorcycle-riding men reportedly threw a hand grenade in front of the Inayagan barangay hall last Wednesday dawn.

The blast reportedly shattered the building’s glass windows and damaged its concrete walls.
