Man dead in Danao road mishap

A man died while his wife is in critical condition after they were hit by a van Thursday evening in barangay Sabang, Danao City.

Diosdado Patambag, a resident of Looc, Mandaue City, was riding a motorcycle with his wife Sherlita and was on their way to Danao City when a Suzuki van with plate number GGA-699 driven by Ronnie Dizon of Upper Guiwanon, Compostela accidentally hit them.

Due to the impact of the collision, the couple was thrown off their motorcycle. Both were brought to the Danao District Hospital where Diosdado was declared dead on arrival. Sherlita was then transferred to a hospital in Cebu City.

Dizon, the driver of the van, immediately surrendered to responding traffic policemen and is now detained at the Danao police station. Cases of  homicide, physical injuries and damage to property are being prepared against him. — Flor Z. Perolina/QSB
