580 CH employees to get rice bonus

At least 580 Cebu City government employees, mostly assigned to the Department of Public Services, will each receive one sack of rice as bonus for cleaning the city immediately after the Sinulog last January.

DPS chief Dionesio Gualiza said it was Mayor Tomas Osmeña who wanted that the personnel of the Sinulog Working Force be provided with incentives.

This after Osmeña admired them for their efforts to immediately sweep the city streets after the Sinulog mardigras.

Gualiza decided that instead of money, a sack of rice will be given to each of the employees.

“Kon k’warta god ang ihatag kanila nga bonus, daghan kaayo sa mga kawani nga wala pa gani molusot ang kwarta gibaligya na. Resulta, dunay uban nga ang kwarta dili na makaabot sa pamilya,” Gualiza said.

The City Council has already approved the resolution sponsored by Councilors Jose Daluz III and Edwin Jagmoc appropriating P580,000 for the purchase of 580 sacks of rice.

Gualiza said some of the personnel who composed the Sinulog Working Force are assigned to the General Service Office and to the Department of Engineering. — Rene U. Borromeo/LPM
