Media’s role important in changing the world
“Great power comes great responsibility.”
This is what Cebu Archbishop Ricardo Cardinal Vidal told media practitioners in yesterday’s awarding ceremony of the prestigious Cebu Archdiocesan Mass Media Awards.
Vidal said the media have evolved into various forms, serving as medium for information, communications and entertainment, which have vital role in changing the world.
Vidal said CAMMA is organized in recognition of media practitioners being valuable partners in the formation of good citizens.
The Freeman writer Archie Modequillo bagged the award in Best in Feature Writing under the newspaper category.
Sister publication Banat News bagged the Best News Writing, Best in Editorial Cartooning and Best in Special Report (Investigative Reports) under the tabloid category.
