Consolacion school gets PB recognition

-

The Tayud National High School in Consolacion town gained recognition from the Provincial Board for besting other schools in the province in the Regional Achievement Test.

In their sponsored resolutions, Board Members Juan Bolo and Victor Maambong congratulated the administration and students of TNHS after they surpassed the Mean Percentile Score in the Regional Achievement Test (RAT).

The PB is expected to approve the resolutions in today’s session.

The Department of Education is regularly conducting the RAT to assess the academic learning and performance of the students.

In the RAT for school-year 2006-2007, the TNHS has garnered a score of 71.62 percent, surpassing the division’s Mean Percentile Score of 47.43 percent. The school has ranked 66th in the test for school-year 2005 to 2006.

“Such achievement brings inspiration to all schools which are struggling to do better in their academics,” Bolo, who chairs the PB committee on education, said in his resolution.

“The positive attitude and dedication of the teachers and the participation of the community improved the performance of Tayud National High School in the immediately preceding school year – 2006 and 2007,” Maambong also said.

According to the Cebu provincial schools superintendent, non-government entities such as the Coalition for Better Education have helped the school achieve better performance in the test. — Garry B. Lao/LPM
