A man was detained after he was caught stealing electrical cable wires from a beach resort in barangay Kalomboyan in Sogod town Monday dawn.
Rebeco Lawat, 46, single and a resident of the place was apprehended by the security guards of Club Pacific Beach Resort for allegedly stealing the electrical cable wires valued at P178,000.
Based on the investigation conducted by the Sogod police, a security guard of the beach resort, while conducting a roving Monday dawn, found the suspect peeling off the insulation of the stolen wires inside the vicinity of the resort.
The guard immediately sought assistance from his fellow security guards and then arrested the suspect.
The management of the resort called up the Sogod police and a team led by SPO1 Jumamil Prescillas arrived and took custody of the suspect.
The suspect is presently detained at the Sogod Police Station pending the filing of appropriate charges against him. — Flor Z. Perolina/LPM
