2 Cebuanos hit lotto jackpots

-

Two bettors from Cebu became instant millionaires over the weekend after winning the jackpots of the 6/42 lotto draw last Tuesday and the 6/49 Super Lotto draw last Sunday.

According to Federico Damole, Visayas operations head of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, the jackpot prizes for the 6/49 and 6/42 draws carried a whooping P126,880.212.60 and P4.8 million respectively.

But both winners have yet to claim their prizes, he said.

Damole said the 6/49 draw winner had bought the winning ticket at a lotto outlet in front of Ramos Public Market, while the 6/42 draw winner bought his winning ticket in Carcar town.

“As of now, we have no idea as to the personal profile of the winners because until now, both of them have not claimed their prizes yet,” Damole told The Freeman.

According to an ABS-CBN new report however, the lucky winner of the 6/49 draw was from barangay Guadalupe.

The ticket sellers of those winners will get an agent prize of P150,000 for the P4.8 million and P500,000 for the P126 million. Agent prizes are separate from the winnings of the individual lotto winners.

The P126 million is the second biggest prize ever won by a single winner in Cebu. The first was P135 million, which was won four years ago.

However, the biggest prize since lotto started operating in the country was over P200 million, which won by six winners, one of them from Cebu.
