The Technical Education, Skills and Development Authority-7 will launch by first week of June the Household Services National Certification II, a new program under its curriculum on household services.
The course is designed to enhance the knowledge, desirable attitudes and skills of workers in the field of household services in accordance with industry standards.
It covers specialized competencies such as proper cleaning of living room, dining room, bedrooms, and toilet; washing and ironing of clothes or fabric, preparing hot and cold meals, and providing food and beverage services.
The 216-hour training will be based on modules prepared by TESDA. The program formerly referred to as "Super Maid" equips Filipinos with the knowledge and skills to become better household services workers.
To qualify for the training, candidate/trainee must be at least a high school graduate, can speak English, and must be physically, emotionally, psychologically and mentally fit.
TESDA-7 officer-in-charge Wilma Verases said she expects an increase in enrollment for the incoming school year with the new program.
