BIR offices open on Saturday

All offices of the Bureau of Internal Revenue will be open on Saturday to give extra day for taxpayers to file their Income Tax Returns for 2006.

The deadline for the filing of the ITRs is on Monday April 16.

Zorohaide de la Cruz, BIR regional information officer, said all BIR offices and their accredited agent banks would be open on Saturday.

In its effort to simplify tax administration, the BIR has adopted the Mobile Tax Payment this year. The bureau has about 1,500 branches of AABs across the country.

Tax filing centers are also being set up at malls to further accommodate the taxpayers. — Ferliza C. Contratista/LPM
