The weather bureau posted 32.6 degrees Celsius as the highest temperature in Cebu City recorded this year.
Kelly Torregosa, weather observer of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration-Mactan, said the warm weather being felt in most parts of the country particularly in Cebu City is indicative that summer is officially here. "Expect more sunny days, hotter days in the next few months probably until May," Torregosa said.
Hottest temperature recorded yesterday was .1 degree lower compared to the recorded temperature last Sunday which was 32.5 degrees Celsius.
The highest recorded temperature here was 37.8 degrees Celsius which occurred on April 28. This was .8 degree higher from the temperature recorded on May 15, 2003 which reached 37 degrees Celsius.
But the said record is still nothing compared to the 42.2 degrees Celsius, the highest temperature recorded in the country, which hit Tuguegarao, Cagayan on May 11, 1969. - Jasmin R. Uy/MEEV
