Two drug pushers fall

Two suspected drug pushers fall into the hands of the operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Branch of the Cebu City police office during a saturation drive against illegal drugs last Sunday evening.
First to fall into the hands of the police was Marife Aguelo, 34, married and a resident of sitio Plastikan, barangay Duljo-Fatima, Cebu City.
Aguelo was arrested after she was caught in the act of selling a small pack of shabu to a poseur-buyer for P100.
During her arrest team leader SPO1 Filomeno Mendaros had a brief argument after a man who identified himself as a certain "councilor Carillo" of barangay Suba tried to intervene as he wanted the operation to be reported first to the barangay hall before the police will effect the arrest.
The "councilor" also wanted to report the arrest to the barangay before the operatives will bring the arrested woman to Camp Sotero Cabahug for detention.
The "councilor" only relented after Mendaros told him that there was no need for them to inform the barangay hall of their operation as criminal elements might flee if word of a police operation got to them beforehand.
Mendaros later told reporters he decided not to arrest the man because he did not consider him a threat to their operation.
Later, police also arrested Romulo Marina, 48, in sitio Maya, barangay Mambaling, after he was caught with drug paraphernalia.
Both suspects are now detained pending the filing of charges against them. - Flor Z. Perolina/BRP
