GMA arrives today for three-day visit

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is expected to be in Cebu and in Bohol for a three-day visit starting today.

During the press briefing yesterday, assistant secretary Jose Capadocia of the Office of the Press Secretary said the President would arrive at 12:15 p.m. at the Mactan Benito Ebuen Air Base in Lapu-Lapu City.

The President will then proceed to the Cebu Provincial Capitol to grace the Cebu Women's Day Celebration, during which various resolutions will be submitted to her.

By 3:00 p.m., Arroyo will then grace the opening ceremonies of the Philippine Councilors League 2007 End Term National Assembly at the Cebu International Convention Center in Mandaue City.

Tomorrow, she will be gracing the plenary session of the 2007 Philippine Development Forum at the Marco Polo Hotel in Nivel Hills, barangay Lahug together with PDF co-chairperson and World Bank country director Joachim von Amsberg and PDF chairman and Department of Finance Secretary Margarito Teves.

On Saturday, the President, who will be staying overnight at the Malacañang sa Sugbu, will then proceed to Bohol to attend the inauguration of the Bohol Youth Sports Complex.

Aside from the said activity, the President will attend the launchings of the Green Philippines and the Barkada Kontra Droga programs.

Capadocia, however, said that it is not clear yet as to who among the President's Cabinet members will go with her during her three-day visit in Central Visayas. - Mitchelle L. Palaubsanon
