2 fall in police drug operation

Two persons were arrested during a saturation drive by the elements of the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Branch of the Cebu City Police Office against illegal drugs in barangay Duljo-Fatima Friday night.

The CIIB operatives first arrested Romeo Uralde, 36, a resident of sitio Kabayotan, after seizing from his possession two packs of suspected shabu.

During his arrest the other night, police learned that they had already arrested Uralde on May 12 last year for possessing six packs of shabu. The suspect, however, then gained temporary freedom after he posted bail.

The CIIB personnel then proceeded to sitio San Pedro and arrested Mary Jane Abelgas, 36, whom they caught possessing drug paraphernalia.

Uralde and Abelgas are now being detained at the Camp Sotero Cabahug pending the filing of appropriate charges against them. - Floz Z. Perolina/LPM
