POEA regional offices to accept jobseekers for Korea starting Mar. 9

-
Applicants for jobs in Korea may apply at the regional offices of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration beginning March 9.

This as POEA recently announced the reopening of registration to the Employment Permit System for Korea applicants, the only legal way to land a job in said country.

According to a press statement, the reopening of registration to the EPS started February 19 to March 9, but only in Luzon.

After March 9, EPS Korea applicants may register in all POEA offices nationwide as there will be personnel available at the registration venues to assist the applicants in encoding their registration.

Jobs available under the EPS Korea special government-to-government hiring program are for manufacturing and construction workers.

Requirements for registration are valid clearance of the National Bureau of Investigation, passport or authenticated birth certificate from the National Statistics Office, school diploma or Transcript of Records, employment certificate and one piece 2x2 picture on red background with nametag.

College graduates are required to have at least one-year work experience, while high school graduates and college undergraduates are required to at least have two years experience.

Initial registration must be at the POEA designated registration sites for the creation of the applicant's user/log-in account.

Afterwhich, the applicant may update and review their profiles through the Internet.

POEA reminds the applicants that registration is free and no placement fee is required for selected workers.

The EPS is both the Philippine government and Korean government's means of preventing illegal recruitment.

Under the said system, it is the Korean employer who picks the employee/employees through the database.
