Six policemen caught a 35-year-old male Korean allegedly in the act of buying shabu from a reputed drug
pusher in New Imus
Road at barangay T. Padilla the other night but the latter however escaped.
Bum Rae Cho, a married resident of Solid Townhomes at Basak, Lapu-Lapu City, initially resisted but he was eventually subdued although the commotion gave Miguel Flores, the suspected pusher, a chance to slip away from the policemen.
The policemen were members of the Cebu City Police Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Branch. They were SPO1 Felomino Mendaros, PO2s Edward Abatayo, Joel Cunan, Jonas Tahanlangit and Antonio Jay Pizzaras, and PO1 Aldwin Pepito.
They got information from a member of the Barangay Intelligence Network about a drug transaction taking place inside a vehicle parked in the area.
The policemen immediately went to the place and allegedly saw the drug deal prompting them to arrest Bum and Flores.
The Korean however allegedly resisted and shoved Pizarras away but the policemen quickly overpowered him when he attempted to run away. Flores, on the other hand, escaped.
When the policemen frisked Bum, they found from his eyeglass plastic case several drug sniffing paraphernalia.
The CIIB already indicted the Korean for drug possession and resisting arrest, and filed drug pushing charge against Flores. - Edwin Ian Melecio/RAE
